Frontier Airlines tries to ease the Great Lakes pilot shortage

CHEYENNE – Frontier Airlines has reached out to Cheyenne-based Great Lakes Airlines and Silver Airways with a program its leaders hope will ease pilot shortages for all three carriers. The Denver-based Frontier created a new Career Pilot Program this month that takes away many of the career problems commercial pilots face. Frontier will guarantee a pilot who completes the program by successfully working first at one of the two regional carriers then will be guaranteed a job with Frontier as a first officer. Great Lakes Airlines and Silver Airways, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, joined Frontier in the program.
